What Happened at the AGD Celebrant Associations & Networks Meeting – June 2026
On Thursday 4 June 2026, I attended the Attorney-General’s Department Celebrant Associations & Networks Meeting in Canberra; one of those days that’s genuinely worth the travel, even if it does make for a long day away from the desk. These meetings bring together representatives from celebrant associations and networks alongside the team from the Marriage Law and Celebrants Section (MLCS) of the AGD, and they’re one of the most direct opportunities we have as a profession to engage with the people who regulate and shape the marriage celebrant program.
Here’s a rundown of the key things discussed on the day. As always, I’d encourage you to read any official guidance released alongside these discussions — I’ll link when and where I can.
